Summer Explorations at Quest Forward Academy

Expand your student’s horizons

Incoming 8th and 9th graders across Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties are invited to build robots, create art, learn theater, and more in hands-on, one-week courses at Quest Forward Academy.

These thought-provoking, skills-building courses are designed for middle school students, especially those who are entering 8th grade or headed to high school in 9th grade this August.

They see an innovative high school in action and get to know teachers in a welcoming environment.

Class sizes are limited to ensure a high-quality experience for all.

  • June 5–9 and June 12-16, 2023
  • Morning Courses: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (arrive at 8:45 AM)
  • Afternoon Courses: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (arrive at 10:45)
  • $100 per Course
  • Perfect for students that will be entering 8th or 9th grade in the fall

Robotics & Engineering

Morning Session

Ever have dreams of building your own robot? This introductory two week robotics and programming class will use STEAM principles to create and program simple robots.


Let’s Create Art

Afternoon Session

We will explore and experience a variety of painting techniques and media approaches to art. We will play with form, color, line, and texture to create a painting portfolio.

Morning Session

Do you love acting out scenes and playing improv games? Do you feel a call to perform? Are you not afraid to be a little (or a lot) silly? Then this is the experience for you! Join our theater class, where we offer participants of all levels a fun, creative and supportive environment, and allow each student the opportunity to discover and celebrate their own talents and artistic passion.

Developing a Healthy Lifestyle

June 5-9, 2023
Afternoon Session

Are you curious to know how different foods affect your body’s physical and mental performance? In this class you’ll do a deep dive into everyday health, nutrition, exercise, sleep, and mental health. Students will explore what it means to prepare well rounded meals, the importance of macronutrients, and do a variety of fun outdoor workouts.

Sports and Exercise Nutrition

June 12-16, 2023
Afternoon Session

Sports and Exercise Nutrition deals with the chemistry behind the biochemical nature of food, their properties, and how they are processed by the body. This involves the study of chemical components of the three macromolecules: fats, carbohydrates and proteins. We will learn how different processing techniques affect a certain type of food and also for ways to enhance the quality of food. Foods will contain gluten and may contain some dairy.
