Celebrating Black History Month

The American people did not have to wait until February to celebrate Black History. History was made this January with the swearing in of the first African-American/South Asian woman Vice President of The United States of America, Kamala Harris. As people take a moment to embrace the historic events that have taken place, there still remains room to look back on the major accomplishments of Black people in America.

We encourage you to join us for a series of Black History Month events throughout February 2021, which will offer enlightening talks, lessons, and activities. All are welcome.

Every February, people across communities and the nation come together to celebrate Black History Month through various events and activities. According to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, an organization founded in 1915 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the theme for Black History Month 2021 is “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity.”

This year, Quest Forward Academy Santa Rosa will pay homage to the rich culture of Black History and hear diverse perspectives about their impact on present day. Please join us for events and activities throughout February — all are free and virtual.
